Salon Director

The Salon Director is responsible for developing and managing all salon operations, sales and marketing strategies, and employee relations. This position will oversee all Department Heads and Client Service Coordinators to achieve customer satisfaction in all areas. Other responsibilities include maximizing productivity and profitability in each department to achieve all organizational goals. We are actively seeking an ambitious, highly motivated Salon Director to guide our staff and our business to achieve their greatest potential.


  • Minimum of 3 years in retail, salon, hospitality or marketing management

  • Transparent, positive leader with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of budgetary, supervisory, human resources, and quality-improvement principles and techniques.


  • Develop and optimize operational systems, tools, and procedures.

  • Ensure systems and strategies are built to exceed goals relating to revenue and costs while providing the highest level of customer service.

  • Oversee supply management and procurement.

  • Oversee customer service and hospitality for all clients.

  • Ensure team maintains an impeccable shop appearance and working operation of utilities and equipment. Oversee repairs as needed.

  • Oversee appointment books to exceed goals and eliminate booking errors.

  • Ensure that regular on-going communication is happening in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives and communicate expectations, recognizing performance, and producing desired business results.

  • Analyze previous year's sales by dept. and propose growth plans with execution models to owner.

  • Track the team’s performance by establishing weekly, monthly and yearly goals.

  • Ensure the team is focused, motivated, and producing positive results.

  • Oversee retail area including ordering, merchandising and receiving to maximize sales. Run sales reports and review retail buy calendar to determine reorders.

  • Engage with clients to guide them through our brand, retail, service and membership options.

  • Review and respond to all client feedback, develop service improvement efforts where appropriate.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends for products and services, and report findings to owner and staff with implementation ideas.

  • Attend a professional sales or leadership development seminar annually.

  • Create and execute sales trainings with vendors and staff.

  • Assist owner with client advisory board development and quarterly interviews to enhance customer experience.

  • Understand the benefits of clean beauty products and services and communicate this effectively to staff and clients.

  • Create, plan and execute customer events annually as directed by salon owner.

  • Collaborate with Social Media Coordinator and staff to create compelling content on all social and marketing channels.

  • Oversee our membership program and execute membership events to increase sales.

  • Execute hiring process with HR Team.

  • Develop and implement orientation program for new hires.

  • Coordinate staff schedules.

  • Plan and attend weekly staff meetings.

  • Develop, plan and attend educational events for staff in collaboration with Department Heads.

  • Review current support structure and propose updates as needed to owner noting costs and sales projections for positions.

  • Conduct performance reviews with the owner.

  • Celebrate successes and publicly recognize the contributions of team members.

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal discrimination and employment regulations.

  • Other duties as assigned.
